While many of you undoubtrably got quite a chuckle from an "oilmans" musings I'm going to need to clear the record. The musings were generated by Mr. Go Fast operating as a vomonster, humerous yes - but certainly not from the little blogger me. Nothing better than having a couple folks on the HOP asking if I've gone bonkers based on my new career ending blog.
While I try to explain to Corp Security that it really wasn't me - I will take one quick "back at ya" to Mr. Go Fast. The vomonster tribe owns a Prius, and I ride my bike to work whenever I can.

Mike,
Whoa... you just jumped right in to this blogging thing, didn't ya? Thrash punk and speed metal?!?!? Who knew? Welcome to the blogosphere, I'm not sure I'm ready yet...
Hey VoMonster. You got a good blog going here. I always thought some of those things about Oil companies and now I have it confirmed from an inside source. But, I thought you worked in the fertilizer division? Is it true, that Chevron ferterlizers really don't have any effect on your lawn, except to kill it if you put too much on?
Griff-
While it is true that Chevron did enter the fertilizer production space, we are no longer continuing with that line. We entered the fertilizer business on the platform that we would be more vertical in our revenue stream with this product. Historically we have been the number one supplier to fertilizer companies such as Scott's Turf Builder, but our percentage from our involvement within their processes was not to our satisfaction so we entered the space. We have struggled from a marketing standpoint as well as fighting for shelving space at places such as Home Depot and other gardening outlets. As a result, we have discontinued the line and have retrenched our effort to be the number one supplier to the fertilizer industry. You are correct in your assumption that fertilizer does little to improve the overall health of your lawn.
Paul-
I literally have no idea what I've gotten myself into.
Vomonster,
Thanks for killing another 10 minutes of my day. If only work could find more interesting things for me to read, I may work more. Your blog so far had me chuckle out loud a few times (and relate to) on a couple different comments. I have added you to my blog file. Even though you state it is all marketing hype, it is good to see you are still a company guy pushing the brand: Chevron employees get a 5% discount on "Chevron with Techron" gasoline.
I have no idea what you are talking about...but will check back frequently and say something that is probably stupid or extremely misunderstood.
BTW: Glad to see Reedus Maximus found a good team/home. He should be a good attribute.
